Type :— MYANMAR. Myitkyina District: near Hpimaw, approximately 25°45’N, 97°23’E, 2100 m, by roadside, 25 April 1938, Kermode 17233 (holotype K000979326 !) GoogleMaps .
Distribution: —S Hengduan, U Irrawaddy.
Note: — Epilobium kermodei has only one record from Myanmar before 1962. Later, Chen et al. (1992) found many specimens collected from China which have been misidentified as E. tanguticum Haussknecht (1879: 56) , which is now treated as a synonym of E. wallichianum Haussknecht (1879: 54) ( Chen et al. 1992). This species is distinct in its predominantly glandular pubescence and larger flowers.
