( Figs 14 View FIGURES 2–17 , 55 View FIGURES 52–64 , 70 View FIGURES 65–76 , 93, 103 View FIGURES 92–106 , 113 View FIGURES 107–120 , 123 View FIGURES 121–138 )
Adults of this species are larger than those of D. vezenyii , and they have been collected in Caribbean islands as well as the northern areas of Brazil. This species has been collected on a wide range of plants, including several crops. It has not been regarded as a serious pest ( Mound & Marullo 1996), but damage to mint plants was recorded in the State of Acre ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 121–138 ) (Lima et al. 2016). Male is similar to female, with exception of the U-shaped pore plate on abdominal sternites III–VII ( Fig. 113 View FIGURES 107–120 ).
