Retithrips syriacus (Mayet) View in CoL
( Figs 33 View FIGURES 18–33 , 64 View FIGURES 52–64 , 91 View FIGURES 77–91 , 109 View FIGURES 107–120 , 120,127)
This species is widespread in the tropics as a minor pest on cultivated plants. In Brazil, it is considered a pest of Eucalyptus sp. and grape vines ( Monteiro et al. 1999) and was also found causing damage to the leaves of the ‘physic nut’ Jatropha curcas ( Figs 127, 135 View FIGURES 121–138 ) in Piauí ( Silva et al. 2008), on maniçoba ( Manihot glaziovii ) ( Bastos & Alves 1981) in the State of Ceará, and on rose leaves in the State of São Paulo ( Fig. 136 View FIGURES 121–138 ) (Lima et al. 2016).
