Distribution and habitat:— Occurs in the Venezuela ( Goldenberg et al. 2013). In Brazil it occurs in Amazonian forests ( Goldenberg & Caddah 2015). In the reserve, it occurs in “igapó”, in open areas on sandy soil that are kept under the water during part of the year.
Comments:— This species is frequent in the reserve, along the margins of lakes and river. This is the only species of Miconia that occurs in these environments.
