Shrubs ca. 1.60 m tall. Light gray and smooth rhytidome. Branches erect, cylindrical, not winged, rufous; branches, petioles, leaves abaxial surface, inflorescences, bracts, bracteoles, hypanthium and fruits with stellate-stipitate persistent trichomes. Leaves opposite, isophyllous; petioles slightly channelled 0.7–1.4 cm long; leaf blades 11.6–15.6 × 4.8–5.2 cm, chartaceous, discolored, symmetrical, elliptical, base cuneate, apex acuminate, margins entire, not ciliate, adaxial side glabrous, leaf veins 5, basal; ant domatia absent. Paniculate 6.9 × 3.8–4.2 cm ,, terminal; bracts ca. 0.9 mm long, linear, persistent; bracteoles ca. 0.3 mm long. Flowers 5-merous; pedicel 0.5–0.7 mm long; hypanthium ca. 1.2 mm long, campanulate, wrinkled; petals ca. 1.4 × 0.9 mm, white, obovate, symmetrical, apex rounded, base attenuate, margins not ciliate, glabrous; stamens 10, heteromorphic, smaller anthers ca. 0.8 mm, larger anthers ca. 1 mm long, white, oblong, straight, apex truncate, 1 apical pore, connective prolonged ca. 0.3 mm long, smaller filaments ca. 1.1 mm, larger filaments ca. 1.8 mm long, glabrous; ovary 0.8 mm long, half-inferior, placentation axillary, 3-locular, with trichomes; style 2.4–3.1 mm long, straight, glabrous. Berry 2.2–2.5 × 2.7–3 mm, unripe fruit green, ripe fruit blackish; seeds numerous, triangular.

Distribution and habitat: —In Guyana ( Goldenberg et al. 2013). In Brazil it occurs in Amazonian forests ( Goldenberg & Caddah 2015). In the reserve, it occurs on “terra firme” slopes on clay soil with low organic matter.

Comments: —This species is not frequent in the reserve. It can be recognized by the light gray and smooth rhytidome, leaves lacking ant domatia and with stellate-stipitate trichomes, and paniculate terminal inflorescences.
