Specimens examined:— BRASIL. Amazonas , Manaus, RDS-Tupé, 31 January. 2013, fl., fr., A. L. Corrêa 139 ( EAFM!, HUAM!, INPA!) ; 01 February 2013, fl.,fr., A. L. Corrêa 151 ( EAFM!, HUAM!, INPA!) ; 02 March 2013, fl., fr., A. L. Corrêa 190 ( EAFM!, HUAM!, INPA!) .

Distribution and habitat:— Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela ( Berry et al. 2001). In Brazil it occurs only in Amazonian forests (Baumgratz 2015). In the reserve, it occurs in “campinarana”, on soils with a lot of organic matter.

Comments:— This species is frequent in the “campinarana”. It can be distinguished by combination of the dark gray rhytidome and pentamerous flowers.
