Type locality: off southern Brazil, 33°38’S, 51°04’ W; depth 215 meters. Illustrations: Anderson & Heemstra, 1980, fig. 4; Anderson & Heemstra, 2012, fig. 20.

D: X, 15 or 16 (usually 15). A: III, 7. P: 17 to 19 (most frequently 18). C: 15 (8 + 7). V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 2. GR: 41 to 48 (12 to 15 + 29 to 33). LL: 36 to 40 (most frequently 37). CP: 16 to 18 (most frequently 18).

Distribution: western Atlantic off northeastern and southern Brazil and off Uruguay.
