Identification. The type locality, as discussed by Huang & Chen (2010), was actually in the mountains around Hanyuan, western Sichuan. This species is very peculiar for the angled preocular margin of the male head. Male specimens from Sichuan examined by us match with the original description of P. prossi . Male specimens from Guizhou and Guangxi have been identified with the examination of genitalia.
The female paratype in the original description was confirmed by us to be P. prossi , with a relatively longer canthus than in other species. Specimens in both sexes have been captured from three widely-separated localities in Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi.
Taxonomic notes. This species is separated from all other species not only by the peculiar preocular margin of male, but also by the combination of a very long flagellum and a larger apex of the flagellum itself in male genitalia.
Distribution. Western and northern Sichuan (Hanyuan, Yingjing, Tianquan, Beichuan), Guizhou (Fanjingshan), Guangxi (Mao-er-shan).
