Material examined: Sta. 10, 45 sp., rocky substrates and algae ( Laurencia patentrema , Corallina mediterranea , Halophytis incurvus ), 0.1– 3 m.
Description: Shell solid, subtriangular, rounded posteriorly, and equivalve. Shell brown-yellowish and slightly transparent. Numerous growth lines on the shell causing wrinkled appearance. Hinge line with 2–3 teeth and a series of small teeth on the dorsal margin after the ligament.
Distribution: M. solidus has been reported from the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea ( Parenzan, 1974: 62). It is also known from the Levantine coast of Turkey ( Öztürk et al., 2007: 566).
