Subgenus Jaynesia Allen, 1969

Type species: Tiphia communis Allen & Jaynes, 1930 .

Diagnosis. Anterior carina of pronotum complete and strong ( Figs 5 , 15 , 25 ); in male, marginal cell of forewing as extended as second submarginal cell ( Figs 12 , 22 ), S5 ( Figs 20 , 29 ) with lateral denticle; in female, metabasitarsomere without groove; T1 anteriorly without transverse carina, T1 with subposterior margin extending and more or less covering subapical puncture groove in lateral view ( Figs 9 , 18 , 27 ) ( Allen 1969; Tsuneki 1985, 1986a).
