Type material: Holotype : “BG Strandzha Mts. , Malko Tarnovo 300 m, N41.98928 E27.52467, l. Bekchiev 18.4.2010 / Holotypus  Cephennium liguliferum sp. n., det. V. Assing 2020” (cAss). GoogleMaps

Etymology: The specific epithet (Latin, adjective: carrying a spoon) alludes to the spoon-shaped apex of the apical extension of the ventral process of the aedeagus in ventral view.

Description: Body length 1.3 mm. External and male secondary sexual characters as in C. bodemeyeri and C. perispinctum :

: aedeagus ( Figs 27–28 View Figs 25–35 ) 0.55 mm long, slender; ventral process in ventral view with nearly parallel lateral margins, not constricted, with marked subapical angles, and apically with a long median extension, this extension apically somewhat spoon-shaped; internal sac with a pair of long and rather stout structures; paramere basally stout, smoothly tapering apicad, strongly bisinuate, and apically with long curved seta.

Comparative notes: Based on the similar external characters and particularly on the similar structure of the aedeagus, this species is undoubtedly closely allied to C. bodemeyeri and C. perispinctum . It is distinguished from both of them by the spoon-shaped apical extension of the ventral process and by much longer and more massive internal structures of the aedeagus.

Distribution: The type locality is situated in Strandzha Mountains, Southeast Bulgaria, not far from the border with the Turkish province Kırklareli ( Map 1 View Map 1 ). The holotype was collected at an altitude of 300 m.
