Parmelia zollingeri Hepp View in CoL in Zollinger (1854: 9) MycoBank no. 123611

Type:— INDONESIA. Java, Bantam [= Banten], Ins. Popoli, s.d., Zollinger 1241 (L, n.v., holotype; fide Hale 1965a) .

Reported from Réunion by van den Boom et al. (2011) from two samples. One (St-Philippe, P. van den Boom 40567!) is Parmotrema odontatum ; the other (Cirque de Cilaos, U. Schiefelbein 1453, B 60 0192020!) is a mixture of P. subisidiosum and P. reticulatum . It is likely that the reference ‘Cirque de Cilaos US1453’ in van den Boom et al. (2011) is confusion with another collection. Indeed, in B, under the name P. zollingeri , a specimen (Piton de la Fournaise, U. Schiefelbein 1718, B 60 0145049!) collected on Réunion at the same period, is not reported by van den Boom et al. (2011). In any case, the latter sample proved to also belong to P. odontatum .
