Genus Eumodicogryllus Gorochov, 1986

Type species: Gryllus bordigalensis Latreille, 1804

Included species: Eumodicogryllus chinensis ( Weber, 1801) (= E. bordigalensis syn. nov., E. chivensis syn. nov.), Eumodicogryllus turcomanorum ( Semenov, 1915) , Eumodicogryllus theryi ( Chopard, 1943) and Tartarogryllus vicinus Chopard, 1968 .

Remarks. The name Eumodicogryllus was proposed as a subgenus of the genus Modicogryllus ( Gorochov, 1986) and later elevated as a genus ( Defaut, 2001). The species of the genus bear a clypeal suture which is shaped as an angle. At the beginning, Gorochov ( Gorochov, 1986) included Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis (= burdigalensis ) Latreille, 1804, Eumodicogryllus chivensis (Tarbinsky, 1930) and Tartarogryllus vicinus Chopard, 1968 into this genus. Then, Eumodicogryllus theryi ( Chopard, 1943) was moved into this genus ( Gorochov & Llorente, 2001). But there is one species, Acheta chinensis Weber, 1801 , that has been forgotten after it was misapplied synonymy ( Chopard, 1967; Cigliano, et al., 2021). We re-established this species name here and proposed two junior synonyms, E. bordigalensis syn. nov. and E. chivensis syn. nov., of it.
