- Enochrus (Lumetus) testaceus (Fabricius, 1801) View in CoL
Zalat et al. (1992), Salman (1996), and El- Shenawy et al. (2006) reported the occurrence of E. testaceus in Egypt. The species is distributed from Europe to central Asia and Siberia (Hebauer and Klausnitzer 1998; Hansen 1999); in North Africa it is known only from Tunisia ( Fikáček et al. 2015). The species is absent completely from the African checklist of Hebauer (2006), and its presence in Egypt needs confirmation.
- Enochrus (Methydrus) circumductus ( Régimbart, 1905) View in CoL
Hebauer (1997) reported the presence of E. circumductus View in CoL in Egypt. The species is widely distributed in the Afrotropical region, and in the Palearctic region it is known only from Yemen ( Hebauer 2003 a, 2006; Fikáček et al. 2015).
- Enochrus (Methydrus) esuriens (Walker, 1858)
Motschulsky (1859) described Pylophilus nigriceps (now a synonym of E. esuriens ) from Sri Lanka, East India, and Egypt. According to Hansen (1999), the record from Egypt is dubious. The species is entirely absent from Africa ( Hansen 1999; Hebauer 2006; Fikáček et al. 2015).
- Enochrus (Methydrus) hesperidum (Sharp, 1870)
Hebauer (1997) reported E. hesperidum and its synonym E. nitidulus ( Kuwert, 1888b) in Egypt. The Egyptian distribution of this species was not included in Hebauer (2003 a, 2006) or Fikáček et al. (2015).
- Enochrus (Methydrus) tetraspilus (Régimbart, 1903)
Enochrus tetraspilus View in CoL was reported in Egypt by many authors such as El Sherif et al. (1976), Yano et al. (1983a), Hebauer (1997), Hendawy et al. (2005), and Taşar (2014). The Egyptian distribution of this species was not included in Hansen (1999), Hebauer (2003 a, 2006), or Fikáček et al. (2015). The species has an Oriental-Afrotropical distribution, and in Africa it is known from Ethiopia and Somalia ( Hebauer 2006).
- Helochares (Helochares) dilutus ( Erichson, 1843) View in CoL
Andres (1913b), Knisch (1924a), and Hebauer (1997) reported the occurrence of H. dilutus View in CoL in Egypt. These records apparently are based on the record of Helochares niloticus Sharp, 1904 View in CoL (which is a synonym of H. dilutus View in CoL ) from Jebel Ahmed Agha ( Sudan). According to Hansen (1999), H. dilutus View in CoL is not found in Egypt. The Egyptian distribution of this species was not included in Hansen (1999), Hebauer (2006), or Fikáček et al. (2015).
