( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 6 – 8 )

Calantica devota Meyrick, 1913 , Exot. Microlepid. 1: 148. Type locality: Khasis, Assam, NE India. Calantica devota: Moriuti, 1971: 253 .

Niphonympha devota: Meyrick, 1914: 45 .

? Anthonympha devota: Moriuti, 1974: 109 View in CoL .

Diagnosis. Wingspan 14 mm. Thorax white. Forewing relatively wide, its width at the middle one-third length of wing; oblique transverse brown band from dorsum reaching hardly more than half across wing and does not merged with dark brown spot extending along distal one-third of costal margin; costal margin with three oblique brown strokes alternated with white ones. The species is similar with rossica by size and shape of forewing and can be separable from the latter by pattern of forewing. It differs from other related subtropical and tropical species by larger size, different shape and relatively wide forewing. Also it differs from all known species by shorter oblique transverse brown band extending slightly more than middle across the wing, and disconnected with distal dark spot.

Distribution. NE India.

Remarks. Moriuti (1971) did not properly combine this species to Anthonympha . He wrote: " Besides the typespecies, the following species are, judging from the superficial characters, referable to the genus " and enumerated two species including devota in original combination with Calantica . Later, in 1974 he indicated that Anthonympha was established for three species and enumerated three species again without combination with generic name Anthonympha .
