= Stenorrhynchos macranthum ( Rchb.f.) Cogn. f. robustior Cogniaux in Chodat & Hassler (1903: 931). Lectotype (designated here):― PARAGUAY. Amambay: Río Apa , 1901–02, Hassler 8265 (lectotype G [online image!]; isolectotype BM).

= Stenorrhynchos regius Kränzlin (1911: 20) ≡ Pteroglossa regia (Kraenzl.) Schlechter (1920: 451) . Lectotype (designated by Szlachetko & Rutkowski 2008: 168):― ARGENTINA. Misiones: Posadas, Loreto, San Ignacio, 30 January 1908, Ekman 425 (S–R [online image!]; isolectotypes CTES, US).

Notes: ― Szlachetko & Rutkowski (2008: 168) indicated the specimen Mosén 4419 (S), collected on 20 October 1895, as the lectotype for P. macrantha . However, this proposal is untenable because this specimen was not cited in the protologue. Thus, here we designate another specimen as lectotype.

We did not find no evidence to consider Pteroglossa regia as a different species from P. macrantha . The material seen in Argentina is morphologically and genetically indistinguishable from P. macrantha of Brazil.
