Tribe Acrometopini View in CoL
The tribe Acrometopini contains at present 9 genera and is restricted to Africa, except for Acrometopa Fieber, 1853 , distributed throughout the Mediterranean area. The bioacoustics of the group was recently reviewed and new genera and species described from East Africa ( Hemp et al. 2018).
In the Dodoma Region new species belonging to the genera Horatosphaga , Peronura and Tenerasphaga were collected and are here described. Also in the genus Altihoratosphaga probably new species are present in the area (see Table 2 View TABLE 2 , from Mingali Forest Reserve, morphologically similar to A. nou (Hemp, 2006) and from Miombo woodlands near Gulwe, morphologically similar to A. nomima (Karsch, 1896) but singing differently; for more information on the latter species see also Hemp et al. 2018). Molecular and studies on their bioacoustics are necessary to clarify species status.
