Genus Ololaelaps Berlese 1904
Ololaelaps mooiensis Ryke, 1962
Ololaelaps gamagarensis Jordaan & Loots, 1987 : syn. nov.
Distribution and habitats. Golestan Province (Gorgan Region forests), soil and litter ( Arjomandi & Kazemi 2014a); Guilan Province (Region not mentioned), soil and litter ( Ramroodi et al. 2014c); (Saravan, Emamzadeh Hashem), soil (Ramroodi et al. 2015a); Lorestan Province (Khorramabad), soil (Hasanvand et al. 2014a); Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari Province (Shahrekord), soil of unknown ant nests ( Khalili-Moghadam & Saboori 2015); Khuzestan Province (Region not mentioned), soil (Nemati et al. 2017b); East Azarbaijan Province (Arasbaran forests), soil, leaf-litter and plant debris ( Ordoukhanian et al. 2017); (Maragheh Region), soil in orchards ( Valizadeh et al. 2017).
Note: 1. Some above authors: Ramroodi et al. (2014c), Ramroodi et al. (2015a), Ordoukhanian et al. (2017) and Valizadeh et al. (2017) reported this species as O. gamagarensis ; 2. Jordaan & Loots (1987) declared the sternal setae lengths as only difference between O. gamagarensis and Ololaelaps mooiensis . So that in the later, sternal setae II and III conspicuously longer than sternal setae I, while in the first species those are approximately of equal length. Marais & Loots (1972) redescribed O. mooiensis and discussed the existence of intra-specific variations in populations of Angula and South Africa. In this study, these intra-specific differences also compared with type materials. Our observations on several specimens that were determined as O. mooiensis and collected from different parts of Iran, showed variation in different morphological characters including sternal setae lengths that are equal in some specimens. According to this explanation, O. gamagarensis could be considered as junior synonym of O. mooiensis .
