Material examined. 1♂ Périnet / 3.54 (P. R.) // Institute / Scientifique / Madagascar // Jarmilaia / mollis Hob. ♂ / Det. L. Hoberlandt, 1958 // Bergrothista / mollis (Hob.) ♂ / Det. L. Hoberlandt, 1961; this specimen is a gift of the late Dr. Hoberlandt for my collection.

Diagnosis. This is a macropterous male; the body elongate with subparallel lateral margins; the surface with scattered flat scales on its head, pronotum, and scutellum, granulate elsewhere; the metathoracic scent gland canal is present, a stridulatory structure is lacking.The colouration of the body is stramineous with blackish spots on deltg II–VI, tergite VII medially, pygophore and paratergites VIII black, the legs and antennae are dark brown to blackish and the apex of the scutellum black.

Description. As the original description is very detailed, only a few data and measurements of the examined specimen are added. Venter with spiracles II–IV ventral far from lateral margin, V sublateral scarcely visible, VI– VIII lateral and visible from above; metathoracic scent gland canal developed.

Measurements. Male from Perinet: Length 5.2 mm; head length / width 15.5/14.5; pronotum l/w 16/30; scutellum 15/17; length of antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 10/5.5/17.5/7; ratio length of antennae / width of head 2.85; width of abdomen across tergite IV 40.

Distribution. Recorded only from Périnet area in central-eastern Madagascar.
