Type material. Holotype: male ( IZCAS), labelled “ China: Yunnan Province, Jingdong County (of Pu’er City), Dongjiafen village , 1250 m, 1956.VI.12, leg. Zagulyaev ”; paratypes: 1 male ( IZCAS), labelled “ China: Yunnan Province, Jingdong County , 1170 m, 1956.VI.9, leg. Zagulyaev ”; 1 female ( IZCAS), same locality and collector, 1956.V.27 ( Fig. 2a View FIGURE 2 ).

Distribution. It is only known from Jingdong County, Yunnan Province in southwestern China.

Remarks. Agnetina gladiata ( Wu, 1962) was previously known only from the original description and illustrations. The male of this species is externally characterized by hemitergal lobes with ventrolateral row of sensilla basiconica and an enlarged spine near apex, and also by the two small separated posteromedial lobes of tergum 5 ( Figs. 2b–c View FIGURE 2 , 3a–c View FIGURE 3 ). The female is externally characterized by a tongue-shaped subgenital plate ( Figs. 3f View FIGURE 3 ).

When we compared this species with other regional species, we found that its hemitergal lobes are identical with A. kryzhanovskii Sivec & Zhiltzova, 1997 . In the original illustration of A. gladiata , the diagnostic enlarged subapical spine of the hemitergal lobe was not mentioned ( Wu 1962), and descriptive comparison was not conducted because of language difference. We subsequently also found these two species were collected from the same county (Jingdong = Czindun) of Yunnan Province, and the holotype of A. gladiata ( Wu, 1962) was even collected at the same locality (Dongjiafen = Dunuzjafin) as four paratypes ( 3 males and 1 female) of A. kryzhanovskii during the end of May to the beginning of June. These data indicate that the types of these two species were collected from the same field trip in the Chinese-Soviet Zoological Expedition to Southwestern China 1956, headed by Prof. Liu Tsung-lo (Institute of Entomology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing) ( Bey-Bienko, 1957). Therefore, we consider that A. kryzhanovskii is a subjective junior synonyms of A. gladiata .
