Female: Body fusiform, 165 long, shield 52 long, 63 wide, shield lobe present; shield design with many longitudinal lines at lateral sides, median line from base to basal 1/3, admedian lines complete, with transverse line at basal 1/3, form rhomb-like at apex, with extending lines toward lateral, submedian line absent; scapular tubercles set ahead of rear shield margin, scapular seta (sc) 8 long, directed upwards, Dt-Dt 17 apart. Legs: tibiae fused with tarsi; coxal area smooth; 1st coxal seta (1b) 5 long, Ct1-Ct1 10 apart, 2nd coxal seta (1a) 6 long, Ct2-Ct2 9 apart, 3rd coxal seta (2a) 14 long, Ct3-Ct3 22 apart, Ct1\Ct2 12, Ct1-Ct2 8, Ct2\Ct3 16, Ct2- Ct3 8; solenidion ending as knob; empodium simple, 6 rayed.
Opisthosoma: dorsum with median and subdorsal ridges, ridges with spine-like microtubercles, dorsal annuli with 24 rings, first dorsal opisthosomal annul broad, 1st 3 dorsal annuli 17 long; ventral annuli with 50 microtuberculate rings; lateral seta (c2) 13 long, Lt-Lt 42 apart, Lt\Vt1 39, Lt-Vt1 28; 1st ventral seta (d) 16 long, Vt1-Vt1 19 apart, 2nd ventral seta (e) and tubercles absent; 3rd ventral seta (f) 19 long, Vt3-Vt3 15 apart; accessory seta (h1) absent.
Epigynium: 20 wide, 13 long, with about 21 longitudinal ridges, genital seta (3a) 7 long, Gt-Gt 14 apart.
Male: body 121 long, shield 45 long, 48 wide, scapular seta (sc) 4 long; genital 13 wide, 8 long, genital seta (3a) 6 long, Gt-Gt 11 apart.
Type data: Holotype Ψ, Taipei: Yangmingshan (675m; N25°10´E121°10´), 18-Aug.-1999, Huang & Wang; ex Helicia formosana Hemsl. (Proteaceae) . (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 12Ψ, 4ɗ data same as for holotype.
Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed.
Remarks: From the outline view, this new species looks similar to Caleiptrimerus heliciopsus Chandrapatya et Boczek, 2000 by the broad first dorsal annuli, prodorsal shield with many dashed lines and the dorsal annuli forming central sharp ridges.
Etymology: This new name means “first” in reference to the first record in Taiwan.
