Metarbelidae View in CoL have the bipectinate antennae in both sexes, retinaculum and frenulum usually absent. The family comprises 251 species in 30 genera ( Lehmann 2019; Yakovlev & Zolotuhin 2019a, 2020, 2021a, 2021b,2021c,2021d,2021e, 2022a). The family is widely distributed in the tropics of the old world; in Africa south of Sahara, Madagascar, Arabian Peninsula; and in the Asian tropics they are known from India to Southern China to Sulawesi with most of the Asian species present in India, Sri Lanka, and Indochina. In oriental region, 34 species under eight genera are known ( Yakovlev & Zolotuhin 2020) whereas, 12 species in seven genera are known from India.
