Arrenurus (Truncaturus) haplurus K.Viets, 1925

Remarks. The larva of A. haplurus is not yet known. The species seems to be relatively abundant in the hyporheic interstitial zone of the investigated stream. Breeding experiments for rearing larvae in the laboratory failed and no Arrenurus larvae attached to hosts were found.

Some characters of the family are sufficient for distinguishing potential Arrenurus larvae from all other investigated species (see e.g. Prasad & Cook 1972): Dp large, covering almost entire idiosoma, bearing four pairs of propodosomal setae and additionally setae Mh1, CX-I-III separate from each other.
