Type material. Holotype ( Figs 32 View Figures 28–42 , 53 View Figures 51–54 ): male, [ South India, Tamil Nadu] “Südindien T. N. | Coimbatore- Road | 1100m | Lf. 15.VIII.1989 | leg. Dr. W. Thomas ” / “Slide | ZSM Arct. | 325/2017 ♂ | A. Volynkin ” ( MWM / ZSM).
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 10.5 mm in the holotype male. Miltochrista monoklina sp. n. is externally similar to M. aurora and M. kerala sp. n. but differs from them in the broader forewing. Additionally, the forewing pattern of the new species is more distinct than in M. kerala sp. n. The male genital capsule of M. monoklina sp. n. is similar to M. kerala sp. n. but is distinguished by the longer and thicker uncus, the more medially convex dorsal margin of the valva, the apically rounded distal costal process (it is apically pointed in M. kerala sp. n.), and the shorter sacculus with a shorter and apically broader distal process. The phallus of the new species is longer and more medially curved than in the congener. The vesica of M. monoklina sp. n. is markedly narrower than in M. kerala sp. n. and bearing a single cornutus (there are two cornuti in M. kerala sp. n.), which is somewhat longer and distally narrower than the largest cornutus of the aforementioned congener.
The female is unknown.
Distribution. South India (Tamil Nadu).
Etymology. The specific epithet originates from the Greek ‘μονόκλινο’ meaning ‘single’ and refers to the presence of a single cornutus in the phallus vesica. The name is a noun in the nominative singular in apposition.
