Remarks. Pickford (1937:443) under the heading " Chilota sparensis " gives a short key to subspecies built upon slight differences noted in the ornamentation of penial setae. The two subspecies Ch. sparensis sparensis and Ch. sparensis caledonensis are then described in detail. In this checklist the subspecies are accepted, although revision and evaluation of the characters separating the subspecies is suggested.
