Type locality. Sumatra: Padang.
Distribution. This species is known from various parts of the world, occurring where the climatic conditions allow. Recorded from various parts of the world under numerous synonyms recorded by Csuzdi (1995, 1996, 2000, 2010). In RSA: Known only from three distant localities in KZN: Durban, Stamford Hill Rd.; Pietermaritzburg: Scottsville; Umfolozi Game Reserve. Collected in small populations.
Remarks. Syntypes of Benhamia kafuruënsis Michaelsen, 1896 ZMH V-298.
