Nigranitida Metz View in CoL (Metz et al. 2003:239 orig. desc.,). Type species Psilocephala costata Wulp (1888:368) View in CoL by original designation.
Metz (Metz et al. 2003:239) provided an extensive diagnosis for Nigranitida View in CoL . The following additions to the diagnosis are based on the species circumscription defined in this revision: body length males 5.3–6.7 mm (n=9), females 5.7–8.8 mm (n=14); male ommatidia smaller ventrally and laterally; male frons lacking setae; ventral lobe with ventral spines; distiphallus lacking apicolateral spines; ejaculatory apodeme bulbous posteriorly, in crosssection flattened dorsoventrally; furca ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) oval, posterior margin rounded, anterior margin truncate; anterolateral projections short, posteromedial and anteromedial projections absent; spermathecal ducts directed anteriorly.
Distribution. Nigranitida is known only from Argentina.
