Measurements: (16 specimens measured) Average total length: 10.4mm, range: 8.1–12.4mm, average elytral length: 7.2mm, average elytral width: 3.0mm, average pronotal length: 2.0mm, average pronotal width: 2.0mm, average head width: 1.9mm.

Head: Red-brown, cranium vested with long setae, with distinct but sparse punctation; posterior part of clypeus red-brown, margins not darkened, with large punctation and a few long setae laterally, smooth centrally; ventral part smooth, except wrinkles behind the eyes; antennae red-brown, A8 apically slightly extended, A9 to A11 forming a loose club, male A11 reaching beyond pronotal base when antennae laid back; gular sutures diverging apically, gular process broad.

Thorax: Average pronotal length:width ratio 1.0:1; red-brown, darker than elytra, black in longitudinal depression, vested with short yellowish setae, pronotal arch with distinct punctation, punctation deeper on pronotum proper, interstices on pronotum proper up to double diameter of punctures, interstices can be smaller laterally; thoracal sternites red-brown, all margins narrowly bordered black, pro- and metasternum with microsculpture, surface of mesosternum coarse; mesosternum coarsely wrinkled laterally, distinct central furrow on intercoxal process; scutellum oval, red-brown.

Elytra: Average length:width ratio 2.4:1; coloration red-brown, lateral margins narrowly darkened, vested with short decumbent and few longer erect setae, punctation relatively small, striae 5 and 6 and 4 and 7 merging towards apex, other striae becoming irregularly in last tenth; diameter of punctures equal to width of interstices; punctation circular, never rasp-like, surface shiny, carination absent.

Legs: Yellow to red-brown, tarsal pulvilli pale; metatibiae slightly curved distally, tibiae not carinated.

Abdomen: Ventrites red-brown, distinctly punctured, interstices larger than diameter of punctures; male pygidium sub-oblong; male ventrite 6 with distinct U-shaped emargination. Male genitalia ( Fig. 42 ): Dorsal and ventral sinus narrowly V-shaped, ventral sinus deeper; phallus slightly asymmetric; spicular fork dividing into two branches after one third of length.

Distribution: Southeast China.

Seasonal occurrence: Collected from May to August.
