DISTRIBUTION: Pakistan; India; Nepal; Burma; Thailand; S. Tibet, Yunnan ( China) (SW); S. Vietnam; Kampuchea; Malay Peninsula.

COMMENT: Includes gaurus ; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:380; but see also Corbet and Hill, 1980:122.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I and U.S. ESA - Endangered as Bos gaurus only.
