TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Sulawesi (= Celebes) .

DISTRIBUTION: Sulawesi.

COMMENT: Formerly included in Anoa but placed in Bubalus , (subgenus Anoa ) by Groves, 1969, Beaufortia, 223:3.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I as B. (= Anoa ) depressicornis . U.S. ESA - Endangered as B. anoa depressicornis .
