TYPE LOCALITY: China, S. Kansu, Hsifan .
DISTRIBUTION: Alpine zone of Tibetan plateau region from E. Afghanistan and N. Pakistan to W. China and N. Burma; also Honan ( China) (SW).
COMMENT: According to PG, correct name probably chrysogaster Hodgson, 1839 ; see comment under chrysogaster .
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Moschus spp.
