TYPE LOCALITY: Sweden .

DISTRIBUTION: W. Europe; W. and S. U.S.S.R; Turkey; Iraq; N. Iran, east through S. Siberia to N. and C. China; Korea.

COMMENT: Includes pygargus; Stubbe and Bruholz, 1979, Zool. Zh., 58: 1402, provided evidence that pygargus (including tianschanicus and bedfordi) is a distinct species.
