TYPE LOCALITY: Morocco, Mogador .

DISTRIBUTION: Morocco; N. Algeria; C. Tunisia.

COMMENT: Nearly extinct (RGVG). According to Groves, 1969, Z. Saugetierk., 34:38- 60, includes rufifrons and thotnsoni; but also see comments under those species.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix III ( Tunisia) as G. gazella cuvieri subspecies only. U.S. ESA - Endangered as G. cuvieri .
