According to Townes et al. (1965), Jezarotes View in CoL is distinguished from other genera of Acaenitinae by the
combination of the following character states: clypeus with a preapical ridge, hind tarsal claws simple, the median
lobe of mesoscutum strongly projecting forward ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 8. J ), and the upper tooth of mandible much smaller than lower
tooth ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 16. J ).
Distribution. Eastern Palearctic and Oriental regions.
Remarks. Three Oriental species, J. yanensis Sheng & Sun, 2013 from South China, J. apicalis (Sonan, 1936) from Taiwan and J. mitai sp. nov. from Laos, are distinct from the Palearctic species in the hind femur without a blunt ventral tooth.
