Diagnosis: Forewing length: ♂ 11–12 mm, ♀ 11–13 mm. The males of T. chiloides resembles to that of T. tumida ( Walker, 1862) , but can be distinguished by the less pronounced central protrusion of the forewing costa, less visible costal black edge basal to the protrusion and uniformly straw coloured hindwing, without any marginal fuscous band as in T. tumida . Further, T. chiloides is distinct from another similar looking Bornean species, T. pseudochiloides Holloway, 2001 by its more yellow and less fawn colouration, less brownish suffusions on forewing and yellow hindwing without any suffusion, and by the presence of the subcostal comma-shaped black spot on forewing. In female of T. chiloides , the subcostal comma-shaped spot and central protrusion of the forewing costa are absent and the characteristic fuscous shade present along the forewing inner margin which is gradually diffused towards the tornus. In male genitalia, sacculus is typically rounded and broad, costal process is rounded and short, harpe is acute. Aedeagus is short and broad with vesica bearing two sets of typically long and strong cornuti.
Distribution: Indonesia (Sumatra, Sumbawa, Sulawesi), Malaysia (Borneo), Peninsular Malaysia ( Holloway 1982, 2001), the Great Nicobar (present study).
Remarks: With the present record, Indian Teulisna is known by 12 species and it is the first ever documentation of this genus from Indian islands. Teulisna chiloides is purely a Sundanian species and is known to prefer tropical lowland dipterocarp rainforest habitats ( Holloway 2001).
