Body 25–30 mm long, colour (in ethanol) beige, darker brown on tail with a pale keel, sole pale in midfield, darker with dark grey wrinkles in outer fields, sides of sole pale with black vertical stripes. Mantle lobes and shell lappets moderately large, pustulose, mantle lobes with black markings, shell lappets with few black pustules. Tail weakly keeled at tip, slime network moderate, caudal horn large. Genital anatomy: Genitalia (fig. 31A–B) with very short vagina; bursa copulatrix moderately long; duct highly swollen distally with thick internal longitudinal pilsaters, bursa oval. Penis large, distally cylindrical, greatly swollen proximally, inner penial wall sculptured with fine pustules; penis interior with a stimulator distally, one minor rounded pilaster medially, and one major longitudinal pilaster proximally; 45% of penis contained in penial tunica. Epiphallus much shorter than penis, entering through simple pore; epiphallus 2 much shorter than epiphallus 1; epiphallic caecum moderate length; flagellum short, slender.
Remarks
Fastosarion rowani (previously identified by curatorial work as Helicarionidae SQ 7) can be found in semi-evergreen vine thicket under logs in a few locations south of Rockhampton in southeastern Qld (Dan Dan NP, Kroombit Tops and Targinie) (fig. 18). In Dan Dan NP it is sympatric with F. alyssa and F. longimentula , but it can be distinguished from both by its more globose and highly whorled shell, from F. longimentula by the pustules (some pigmented) on the shell lappets, and its slenderer foot with a less obvious slime network, and from F. alyssa by its larger size.
