Diagnosis. Neothrombiids with eyes 2 + 2; two dorsal scuta, AL setae bifid, scutellum with one pair of normal setae, coxal setal formula 3-4-2, all coxal setae bifid except lateral seta on coxa II, S posterior to PL, hypostomal setae bifid, palp femur without seta.
Remarks. We agree with Zhang & Fan (2005) in which Neosilphitrombium is obviously a member of Neothrombiidae because the S setae are located posterior to the PL setae.
