Phymatodes tysoni Chemsak and Linsley, 1984:73 View in CoL . Type locality: Arroyo Mocho Canyon, Alameda County, California, USA. CASC
This species is similar to P. nitidus View in CoL , differing primarily by the apical fasciae, which are narrower, longer, and situated at a more oblique angle than P. nitidus View in CoL . In addition, the fasciae begin at roughly the middle of the elytra at the suture, and terminate at about the three-quarters to the apices. The host plant, Juniperus californica View in CoL , is the same as in P. nitidus View in CoL . Based on the collections we examined, P. tysoni View in CoL appears to be restricted to the central inner coast ranges of California.
