Typus: MALAYSIA. Selangor (Peninsular Malaysia): Gunung Kutu, V.1896, Ridley 7659 (holo-: SING [ SING00 59105 ]!).

Distribution and ecology. – Benstonea unguiculata is endemic to lowland rainforests of Peninsular Malaysia from sea levelto 1500 m ( STONE, 1978).
