Materials examined. 1♂ ( NWAFU), China: Gaoligong Mountain, Baoshan City , Yunnan Province, light trap, 25.vii.2014, YNBS0725 , coll. Chenggong Li ; 1♂ ( NWAFU), China: Huanglian Mountain , Luchun County, Yunnan Province, light trap, 20.vii.2015, YNLC0720 , coll. Kaige Xu.

Measurements (in mm; 2♂♂). Body length: 18.4–19.3; fore wing length: 27.3–29.0; fore wing width: 8.3–8.8; width of head including eyes: 6.2–6.4; pronotum width (including pronotal collar): 7.0–7.2; mesonotum width: 6.3–6.6.

Distribution. China (Yunnan), India.

Diagnosis. Postclypeus prominent with black fasciae. Forewing with prominent infuscations on radial, radiomedial, medial, mediocubital crossveins and marginal series of minute fuscous spots present on apex of longitudinal veins of apical cell. Male opercula short, green with black markings at the posterior margin. Timbal covers with anterior black markings.

Remarks. This species was first discovered on the Sohra (Cherrapunjee) plateau of Meghalaya. In this study, M. meghalayana is reported in China for the first time.
