Tomarus similis ( Endrödi, 1968)

Distribution. Panama, Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil (Prance and Arias 1975; Endrödi 1969; Ratcliffe 2003; López-Garc´ıa et al. 2015). Here it is reported as a NEW COUNTRY RECORD from Costa Rica.

Specimens Examined. COSTA RICA: Coto , 23.iv.1957 [16, FSCA] .

Comments. This record is the northernmost locality for the species (ca. 400 km north of the known locality in Panama), which could be a result of dispersion as it is a South American species.
