Neotype (designated here):— FRANCE. “ Biscutella oreites Jordan (loco classico!), Hautes-Alpes, Rocailles entre le Monêtier de Briançon et le Lauzet, 12 juillet 1886, leg. G. Rouyˮ (handwriting) det. G. Rouy ( LY0000667 ).
= Biscutella laevigata L. subsp. l aevigata
Note: no sheet identified by A. Jordan could be found for this species in the numerous collections studied. However, in 1865 the seedling notebook mentions a sowing n° 667: Biscutella laevigata from “Monnetierˮ in 1864. May be this high mountain plant, very susceptible to cryptogamic diseases, did not survive long enough to be mounted as a herbarium specimen.
