Pseudoboarmia Lucas, 1932 . Type species: Pseudoboarmia desertaria Lucas, 1932 . [Junior homonym of Pseudoboarmia McDunnough, 1920 . Replaced by Boarmioides Lucas, 1932 .]
Description
Head. Chaetosemata elongated, conspicuous. Antenna of male bipectinate.
Wings (Fig. 39). Grey brown. Termen, particularly of hindwing, weakly scalloped.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 163 View Figures 159–164 ). Uncus horns absent.
Pregenital abdomen of male ( Fig. 164 View Figures 159–164 ). Sternum A8 with a small notch-like emargination; not deeply cleft.
Female genitalia. Sterigma well-sclerotized. Bursa copulatrix: antrum prominent, leading into indistinguishable ductus bursae/corpus bursae of which the ‘first’ (i.e. posterior) half is sclerotized; signum absent.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from Macaria by the absence of horns on the uncus and by the notched, rather than cleft, margin of sternum A8.
Distribution. Morocco.
Comments. The shape of the valve is similar to that in Macaria , but we are reluctant to synonymize the genus because of the absence of uncus horns and the presence of a notched rather than a cleft sternum A 8 in the male. The taxonomic position of this monotypic genus remains unclear.
Number of species. One.
