Distribution: Italy (incl. Sicily), Turkey (Mugla). First records for Spain and Tunisia (new to North Africa).

Material examined: Macedonia: Saraj, 24.00N 21.26E, 13.–15. VIII.1963, 1 ɗ, exc. Leiden, J. Starý det. Morocco: Ht Atlas, Massif Toubkal, Arhbalou, 43 km S Marrakech (route S 513), 1000 m, 3.–14. VII.1977, 5 ɗ, H. & T. v. Oorschot, E. Houkes & P. Oosterbroek leg., J. Starý det.
Distribution: Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran. First records for Macedonia and Morocco (new to North Africa).
Note: An overlooked species, only recently recorded in Europe from Lithuania ( Podenas & Visarčuk 2006), but probably widespread at least in the east of Europe. It differs from G. (G.) tenella (Meigen, 1818) especially by the shape of the aedeagus (cf. Figs 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 8. 1 – 2 ).
