Andrena puthua flies in the morning and early afternoon and specializes on pollen from plants in the genus Lasthenia Cass. (Thorp 1969) . This species occurs in California, USA and BC, Mexico. We examined 19 specimens collected in March 2014 at the Baja California Mountains vouchered at the CNIN (12 ♀, 7 ♂), and one collected in April 1988 at SDNHM (1 ♀). Three females were collected as part of this project, two in March 2021, one in the Succulent Coastal Matorral, and the other in the Central Desert and another in Coastal Sage Matorral in Valle de Guadalupe in May 2021 ( MABC).
