[ Holotype: UCRC; ♀ Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico; April 24, 1941 ]

The holotype female of Andrena layiae is from Ensenada, BC. We examined one male reported by Bouseman & LaBerge (1970) from the Succulent Coastal Sage collected in March 1960 ( EMEC). See fig. 13.
