APIDAE Latreille, 1802

We recognize five subfamilies: Anthophorinae , Apinae , Eucerinae , Nomadinae , and Xylocopinae , following the classification proposed by Bossert et al. (2019) based on modern molecular phylogenomic techniques by the combination of ultraconserved elements (UCE’s) and transcriptome sequencing, and recovered by Orr et al. (2022) using UCE’s sequencing.
