Calliopsis (Calliopsis) sonora Shinn, 1967 View in CoL

[ Holotype: BBSL; ♂ Rio Mayo , Sonora, Mexico; August 25, 1935]

Shinn (1967) reported one female from the Gulf Coast in Canipolé, BCS collected on October 2, 1941. Shinn (1967) cited this specimen without certainty of being Calliopsis sonora due to the presence of a yellow maculation on the tegula and the length of the first labial palpi, which is inconsistent with other specimens. We compared the specimen to the allotype from Rio Mayo, Bernardino, Sonora and we find the morphology between the two specimens indistinguishable. See fig. 26.
