Melissodes communis is broadly distributed across North America. On the BCP, it was first collected in the Lower Colorado Desert in San Francisquito Bay and in the Gulf Coast in Isla Angel de la Guarda and La Paz in June 1921 ( Cockerell 1923). No additional records of this species within the peninsula have been documented since then. See fig. 110.
