Centris (Paracentris) cockerellii Fox, 1899 View in CoL

[ Lectotype: USNM; ♀ New Mexico: Mesilla Valley; 18 May ]

This species is widely distributed in xeric regions of the southwestern USA and northern Mexico. Specimens collected in the Gulf Coast in June 1921 and March 1991 are reported by the SEMC and CASC ( GBIF 2023 ). The CARCIB team collected one specimen in the Gulf Coast in September 2016. Additionally, the BBPT collected specimens in the Gulf Coast in March 2021 (3 ♀, 2 ♂), in Magdalena Plains in March 2021 (1 ♀), in Vizcaíno Desert in March 2021 (5 ♀) , and in Central Desert in March 2021 (1 ♂), and April 2023 (1 ♂), and in Lower Colorado Desert in June 2021 (1 ♂) . Voucher specimens are in MABC (5 ♀, 3 ♂) , and ECOAB (4 ♀, 2 ♂) . See fig. 87 .
